COVID-19 Update: Limited Gathering Worship Services

After spending time in prayer and considering all available guidelines and recommendations for social distancing, as well as taking into account your feedback from the recent survey and wanting to respect the varying comfort levels of those who worship with us, we are ready to move into the next step of reopening Summit campuses.

We are now offering limited gathering worship services in addition to our online worship services. At the Herndon, Lake Mary, and Waterford Campuses, this means we will begin worshiping together again inside our buildings.

Our online services will not change as that may still be the best option for many of us as we navigate our communities reopening. These limited gathering services may feel different than the Summit services you’re used to at one of our campuses. We will ask you to RSVP for service each week to enable us to limit our capacity to allow for social distancing.  Services will be offered at the following times at each campus:

Herndon Campus | 9 a.m. & 11 a.m.
Lake Mary Campus | 11 a.m.
Waterford Campus | 11 a.m.

What You Can Expect at Limited Gathering Services

  • Base Camp will not be available during these limited gathering services. Children’s Ministry resources will still be available online.

    • You are welcome to bring your children to service, but please note that services are not tailored for children under sixth grade age.

  • Bring your own coffee!

    • You know we love coffee, but out of the need to reduce contact with shared surfaces, our typical coffee stations will not be available at this time.

  • Paper bulletins will not be available and tithes and offerings will continue to be given only online at summitconnect.org/give or by texting “SUMMIT” to 45888

  • Seating in the Sanctuary at each campus will be arranged to accommodate social distancing measures.

  • We will be practicing increased cleaning protocols before and between services.

Guidelines for Attending a Limited Gathering Service

  • As per the Orange County order in effect on 6/20 (which Summit is collectively following), it is required you wear a mask covering your nose and mouth (for those above the age of 2) to help us care for our community.

    • Our staff and volunteers will also be wearing masks out of consideration for you and others attending the service.

  • Sit with your family or party you arrived with while paying attention to social distancing measures. Please keep at least six feet of distance between you and other groups.

  • Wash your hands often and after sneezing or coughing.

  • Stay home if you are sick.

  • By being in a public place, like Summit Church, you voluntarily assume all risks related to the exposure to the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

RSVP Information

  • RSVPs for Sunday services will open up each Wednesday prior at 9 a.m. You can find them on the homepage of our website.

  • Should spots for services fill up quickly, there will also be a waitlist available that will notify you if any of those spots open back up.

  • You’ll need to RSVP for everyone above the age of 2 in your party.

  • Please have your RSVP confirmation email available to show us when you arrive.

We encourage you to take your time to read through what to expect on Sundays and prayerfully consider if now is the right time for you to return to a church facility. We are eager to gather in worship with you, not as an opportunity to make a statement but to participate in corporate worship with others. And should you choose to continue worshiping with us online, we are excited to participate in that with you as well!

If you have any questions regarding our reopening, these limited gathering services, or online services, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
