Let’s take a little break from the Book of Acts to see what Paul wants the churches in Galatia to remember, as we also take this year to focus on how to be the Church (that’s big-C “Church” for the entire body of believers, not just us!).

In the time that Paul wrote to them, the churches in Galatia were churches divided. They had conflicting ideas and conflicting cultures. Paul wanted the people of these churches to be united by the gospel—by their faith in Jesus. He wanted them to understand the importance of faith over the practice of a set of rules.

In the letter to the Galatians, we find the importance of living rooted in the gospel and in the way of God’s Spirit. The early church could only thrive once they fully accepted all that the gospel had overcome—superiority was rejected, greed was kept in check, and true unity in Christ was pursued.

For more contextual information, we recommend watching this short 10-minute video from The Bible Project.

This reading plan is designed for you to read two chapters per week. The readings are broken up into five days per week. They’re organized here as Monday-Friday, but of course, feel free to adjust this plan to whatever fits best in your schedule! We’d also encourage you to join us in memorizing one verse per week. If you would like a physical copy of the reading plan, they will be available in Lobbies at our campuses.
