We want to stand beside and be caring neighbors to the schools in our city.

We are building relationships with local schools as we learn to serve in ways that encourage and empower entire families. Each Summit campus is working to partner with different schools in their city to invest time, talents, and resources to help these schools meet their goals.

How do I get involved in serving local schools?

Herndon Campus

Colonial High School is the largest Title I school in Orange County and is considered economically disadvantaged. We are forming support teams that will come alongside the staff and faculty as they serve the students and their families.

  • If you’re interested in volunteering within the school to support the staff and students, a first step is to apply to become an OCPS ADDitions Volunteer. This allows the school to verify that all volunteers are background checked and approved to work with their students.

  • Support teams use their specific talents, resources, or networks to assist different aspects of the school. Sign up below.

Let us know if you're interested in supporting Colonial High School's extracurricular program by leading or joining a volunteer team that supports clubs and teams such as theatre, volleyball, soccer, or softball.

Lake Mary Campus

Lyman High School serves a large population of students receiving free and reduced lunch. The Lake Mary Campus is looking forward to working with faculty and staff to identify and assist with challenges students in our community face every week.

United Cerebral Palsy of Central Florida is a Title I school in our community that serves children with special needs. We want to come alongside the staff and faculty as we share their heart for children with special needs and the importance of genuine involvement in their lives.

  • If you’re interested in volunteering within the schools and working with students, a first step is to apply to become an SCPS Dividends Volunteer. This allows the school to verify that all volunteers are background checked and approved to work with their students.

  • Do you have ideas or questions about serving UCP or Lyman High School? Email Lake Mary Ministry Coordinator Amy Kaufholz.

Waterford Campus

East River High School is located in Bithlo just under 10 miles from the Waterford Campus. Bithlo is an area with disproportionately low income and high unemployment rates. The community also has little access to public transportation and medical facilities. We want to support students by joining the staff and faculty as they serve this community.
