The Day Death Lost Its Sting

Jesus knew there was only one way he could get to us. And so, he endured.

On his final day, he was betrayed, taken, arrested, struck, ridiculed, scorned, crucified. He moved through unimaginable pain, willingly. He faced those who hated him, withstood those he loved denying him, and experienced separation from the Father unlike that which he’d ever known.

And each unbearable step he took toward the cross, more of his glorious character was revealed. All that he had claimed to be during his time on earth was true. His selflessness, bravery, humility, and love for us—all were shown on the path to the cross.

In walking toward darkness, Jesus would become eternal light. In taking on death, Jesus would conquer the grave. In his last breath, Jesus would rescue the world and death would forever lose its sting.
