Audition for Base Camp Live!

All throughout the school year, I get a front seat to Base Camp Live! (BCL for short). Well, not literally. On the weeks I’m not performing, I usually watch from the back… What I mean is, I get a firsthand look at how the show impacts families. I see kids laughing alongside their moms and dads. I hear stories of how a child displayed patience, respect, or courage at school. And I read emails from thankful parents about how BCL helps them engage in thought-provoking conversations with their kids throughout the week. BCL is Summit’s 25-minute family production. Kids and their parents watch the show together and learn God’s truths in a fun, engaging way. I’m a big fan of BCL because of how we leverage culture to influence families.

I grew up a kid of the ’90s. I watched Nickelodeon shows like Rugrats, The Adventures of Pete & Pete, and Hey Dude. The characters were so real to me, and I could quote entire episodes. My sister and I would sing songs from Beauty & The Beast, Aladdin, and The Lion King. I was definitely a kid influenced by culture!

What if culture could be used to influence families for Jesus? What if kids have just as much fun watching a production that shares God’s love with them as they have watching their favorite TV show? That is precisely the goal of BCL.

God has given us all gifts to use for the benefit of others. As Paul says in 1 Corinthians 12:7:

“The Holy Spirit is given to each of us in a special way. That is for the good of all.”

Some people have the gift of teaching. Others have the gift of leadership. And a special group of people have the gift of acting silly on stage so kids will know how much God loves them!

Does your heart beat faster when you think about performing? Does being on the stage bring you joy? Then come audition for BCL… We need you! We have a variety of roles available and would love to get you plugged in. If you love Jesus and love performing, BCL is the perfect place to use the gift God gave you! Oh, and a word to those of you who have NEVER performed on stage but find yourself intrigued at the possibility. You should audition, too! We’ll play games, act out scenes, and learn more about the vision and ministry of BCL. It will be a ton of fun and no pressure!

Please join us for auditions on Wednesday, August 6th at 7 p.m. at the Waterford campus or Thursday, August 7th at 7 p.m. at the Herndon campus. You can attend either audition no matter which campus you attend.
