How to Make a Friend
There is great potential in what God intended when he dreamt up friendships. He shapes and molds who we are through whom we surround ourselves with—allowing us to spur each other on and sharpen each other into all that he has created us to be. Driven by the book of Proverbs, this three-week series will show us what God’s word teaches us about How to Make a Friend.

WEEK 1
September 18, 2016
This week we will dive into the core of what friendship is meant to be—and what it is not meant to be—and we will identify the key ways in which we can be a friend by making a friend. We learn that friendship is more of a necessity in our lives than we may often give it credit for. This week will show us friendship through the lens of the ultimate friend, Jesus, and in the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) as an expression of friendship itself.
WEEK 2
September 25, 2016
Focusing in on the building of a friendship, this week we begin to start looking at ourselves and what kind of friend we are to others. If friendship first starts with each of us individually, then to make a friend we must first be a friend. It is through constancy, care, candor and confession that friendships are built.
WEEK 3
October 2, 2016
This week we find that relational repair always begins with us and that forgiveness is most costly to the one who forgives rather than the one who is forgiven. We’ll see how resisting superiority, releasing liability, and repaying evil with good are all hard but necessary parts of repairing a broken friendship.
