Week 5
In the parable of the workers in the vineyard we see that in the kingdom of God, it’s not that those who already have get more but that those who have not "get enough." The kingdom of God is built on generosity. In Jesus, we see God disadvantaging himself for sinful man in his incarnation, his life and death, and in his resurrection. In him, we are invited to be people who disadvantage ourselves for the sake of others.

Week 4
None of us are in perfect harmony with God. There’s always room for improvement. In this parable, the house is clean but empty. What does that mean? It means that what should be present is not. The house is not a home. In Ephesians 3, Paul prays a prayer for those 1st Century believers that Jesus would “dwell in your hearts through faith.” If our lives are not a dwelling place for the Lord, then things can really break down.

God wills above all to celebrate! Celebration is the result of God's grace. Grace is a call. Everyone is called by God to the celebration, but some reject it. Grace is also a covering. Jesus Christ provides the covering necessary to celebrate. But some refuse to put it on. Grace is a celebration.

A silver coin loses no value when it's lost. A silver coin is lost by no fault of its own. A silver coin needs someone to know it's worth and find it. One of the reasons this parable was told to the Pharisees was to show them how people are valued in the kingdom of God. Everyone matters to God.
